The latter – they’re hand-traced on photoshop from regency period drama screencaps, just like the Old Masters used to do it. Honestly anyone could do it with a steady hand and some patience. This comic’s more about the joke than the talent I suppose! 🙂

How is imagining that anyone wants him to apologize “logical” and not “delusional”?

He’s logically delusional, as befits a twit. She, his comically worthy mate, assents by attack.
